Privacy

We collect only what is needed to run the penfriend directory.

What we store

Your e-mail address, first name or nickname, gender, year of birth, country, languages, the text about you and your photo, plus the dates of registration and last activity.

What is public

Everything in your profile except your e-mail address. Photos are stored without location data.

Messages

Messages between members are stored on our server so you can read your conversations. They are visible only to the two members of the conversation.

Cookies

We use only necessary cookies: a session cookie for forms and signing in, a cookie that keeps you signed in for 30 days (removed when you sign out) and a cookie that remembers your language. No tracking or advertising cookies.

Visitor statistics

We measure visits without cookies and without storing IP addresses: we only count daily totals (how many people came, which pages they read which website they came from, and roughly which country – we work out the country from the IP address but do not store the IP). A visitor is recognised only within one day using a fingerprint that changes every day and is deleted after two days.

Your rights

You can edit or delete your profile at any time on the "My profile" page. A deleted profile is no longer shown and cannot be signed in to; we keep a record of it. On request we delete your data and photo permanently.
