I have always been fascinated by the idea of hand-written letters but I've never had the occasion to write one. The idea of committing oneself to the entire process of letter composition- the writing, the enveloping, the posting, the waiting, the receiving back, the opening and reading, somehow seems to add more meaning and weight to the content of the letter.
